I’m a member of DreamAgo : a unique international association that fosters screenwriting through a swiss residency for feature writers (Plume et Pellicule) and for the selected projects, a pitching session in Hollywood in front of producers (Meet your match).

Another great rendez-vous of DreamAgo is the periodic lunch : writers reunite and share their experiments, their tips, their good stories, their wishes for future projects. They also share wine and jokes, which makes the lunches very lively and friendly.

I often go to this lunch in Paris. I have found there connexions, work, advices, inspiring examples and good wine.

Because DreamAgo operates in different countries :

DreamAgo has centers in 4 countries, patrons in 5 countries, consultants in 7 countries, members in 10 countries and has helped projects from 25 countries.

Notice that the association considers spanish-, french- and english-written scripts.

I happen to be in Hollywood when the monthly lunch takes place – at the same time that Pascale Rey, the irresistible founder and promoter of DreamAgo, and Maggie Soboil, the US president of DreamAgo, both unanimously qualified as « doers ». They make things happen.

sam_3632What works in France, works in Hollywood : I met tremendous people, US screenwriters that have been to Sierre to attend Plume & Pellicule. Maggie and Pascale made me connect with the US DreamAgo bunch, and that means being able to learn from experimented US screenwriters how they work, what projects they develop, some personal, others on demand.

Thanks to DreamAgo, I’ve been able to meet Sharon, Hayley, Steve, David C., Mark and Lois, Ronnie, Casey and Chris, David F. Through them, I could speak to « Blackish » author, Njeri Brown; go to the WGA screening « Hell or high water »and visit Dreamworks Studio.

I could not enough encourage screenwriters with on spec feature films projects to go and see DreamAgo website : http://www.dreamago.com and to apply for the residency.

At least, join the association and come to the monthly lunch. If you feel shy, don’t :  members short films screenings and good wine will give you plenty to talk.
